– Caduceus International
The core services of Caduceus International consists of three parts. These are:
1. Preliminary Visa Application Process
Caduceus International (CI) provides an automated, secure, Visa application that is accessible via our website. The application is customized for medical tourists seeking care in the United States (US). It utilizes a knowledge-based system and language query, providing information to help the applicant through the completion process. Once completed, a CI Consultant will review the application for accuracy, ensuring the criterion is fulfilled, greatly increasing the likelihood of receiving a Visa. A CI member will then contact the applicant with specific questions and suggested revisions.

2. Completion of the Medical Review Process
Once the basic Visa application is complete (see Step 1 above), the patient and his/her family can decide to move forward with the medical review portion of the medical tourism process. This may involve up to three steps. These steps are completed by CI staff and doctors in the US before the patient comes into the country. When completed, the medical review process will provide the patient with a clear plan of care moving forward and an accurate estimate of all medical costs. The first part of this medical review process is a complete medical review.
A. Complete Medical Review
This requires the applicant to send all relevant medical records from previous providers to CI. This can involve sending hundreds of pages to CI. A physician specializing in the specific area of the patient’s medical problem will conduct a complete review of the information sent to determine the most appropriate next step. The physician will review all medical tests performed, review all diagnostic conclusions, review any treatments received, and determine the most appropriate next steps for the patient. The physician may decide that further diagnostic testing is needed to refine a final treatment plan. Or, the medical information may be sufficiently complete to recommend a referral to a medical facility that can best provide final definitive treatment. These two options are described below.
B. Further Diagnostic Testing
After review of the medical records, the physician may recommend that the patient needs to come to the US to receive further, updated testing to refine the diagnosis and treatment plan the patient is under. The physician will select a medical facility for these tests to be done and provide an estimate of costs for these services. The patient will know the costs of this step prior to coming to the United States for these services.
C. Final Definitive Treatment Plan with Pricing
In some cases, the medical information provided is clear enough and current enough for the doctor to recommend a final, definitive treatment plan. If this is the case, the CI team will arrange for definitive follow-up care at a US medical facility specializing in the identified clinical specialty. The CI team will negotiate a fixed price for these services at a rate substantially lower than fee-for-service charges. At this point, the client should have a good idea of what the complete costs will be for either the diagnostic or final treatment costs should be. Note that the patient will know this before they make the commitment to travel to the US for medical treatment. Some clients may choose to take this medical treatment plan and estimated cost information to providers in other countries for comparison purposes. This is perfectly understandable. Should the patient prefer to receive care elsewhere, CI is happy to provide its medical findings to any other provider in the world.
The patient will be presented with a complete review of his or her medical condition, a recommendation for either further diagnostic testing or for a final definitive treatment plan and a complete cost estimate. Whatever next step the patient chooses, he or she will have a clear understanding of the costs and recommended the medical facility for these next steps before making any travel commitment. Armed with this information, the patient may much more comfortably make these important life’s decisions to either proceed or seek an alternative.
D. Completion of the final Medical Visa and Visas for all travelers
With the information received from Steps 2. A, B, and C above, you may now want to proceed to receive the medical care recommended by the physician. This will require the inclusion of the medical review information found above into the visa process. Acceptable Medical Visa applications require documentation by a US physician:
- That the identified medical care is required,
- That the medical services described by CI are not readily available in the patient’s home country,
- That a US physician has agreed to provide this care, and
- Those arrangements have been made to cover the costs of providing the care.
Caduceus International will provide the appropriate letters and verification documents to support the visa application requirements. CI will also help guide the application through the embassy process as for the patient well as for any travelers choosing to accompany the patient.

3. Receipt of Medical Treatment
This is when the patient and any family who may accompany him or her, travel to the US to receive the care described in Step 2. CI is happy to help arrange for any travel and living accommodations the patient may require the use of our Concierge Services. The client is required to make all payment arrangements prior to travel to the US. Of course, the cost of this care is entirely dependent on each specific case. Whatever the quoted cost, this amount must be forwarded and received by CI prior to travel to the United States.
